This privacy statement discloses the privacy practices for cpemarket.com, a web site owned by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy, (NASBA).

Your privacy is important to CPEmarket.com. This Privacy Policy will tell you what information we collect, how we protect it, how we use it, and what choices you have about how that information is used. We urge you to read our Privacy Policy so that you will understand both our commitment to you and your privacy, and how you can participate in that commitment.

1. Information Collected

CPE course providers who wish to list CPE courses on CPEmarket.com will be required to enter their name, address, company name, phone number, email address, and specific course information, and course providers who are not members of the National Registry of CPE Sponsors or the Quality Assurance Service program must also provide credit card information. Although any individual may review the course listings without providing individually identifiable information, individuals wishing to receive notices of updates, additions, and changes to CPEmarket.com must register as a member, which will require that they provide name, address, email address, member name, and password (all such data obtained from course providers or individuals hereinafter referred to as “Registration Data”). CPEmarket.com reserves the right to request any additional information necessary to establish and maintain your account for use of the site. CPEmarket.com is the sole owner of information collected on the site.

CPEmarket.com also collects information about use of the site through the use of Cookies and/or Session Variables. "Cookies" are small computer files that we transfer to your computer's hard drive that allow us to know how often someone visits our site and the activities they conduct while on our site. "Session Variables" are similar to Cookies except that they remain on our servers and are not transferred to your computer. Usage of a Cookie or Session Variable is in no way linked to your Registration Data. Once you close your web browser, the Cookie or Session Variable simply terminates. For instance, by setting a Cookie or Session Variable on the site, you would not have to enter your user name, thereby saving time while on the site, although you would still have to enter your password. If you reject the Cookie or Session Variable, however, you may still use the site. Sponsors and advertisers may also use Cookies or Session Variables if you click on an advertisement to learn more about a product or service; CPEmarket.com is unable to control their use of Cookies and Session Variables or how they manage the information they gather. You should consult their respective privacy policies to learn more about their information collection practices.

2. Confidentiality

Registration Data is the property of CPEmarket.com. CPEmarket.com will not sell, rent, swap, or otherwise disclose your Registration Data to any third party without your express permission, except as set forth in this section. In the following limited circumstances CPEmarket.com will consider, and may release, to third parties: (1) to comply with valid legal requirements such as a law, regulation, search warrant, subpoena or court order; or (2) in special cases, such as a physical threat to you or others. CPEmarket.com maintains a secured area on the site for transmission of Registration Data (using SSL encryption technology). Additionally, contact information for course providers who list their courses on CPEmarket.com will be made available to all users of the site in order to facilitate communications, enhance the user experience, and ultimately, to make it easy to order or register for a course.

3. Uses of Registration Data

Unless you select the "Opt-Out" option as described below, CPEmarket.com reserves the right to use your Registration Data to send you information about CPEmarket.com and the site. However, we will never sell provider lists or other Registration Data to any third parties without your express permission. Note, however, that, as disclosed above, contact information for course providers will be available to all users of the site.

4. Opt-Out Right

If you do not wish to receive any special offers or other communications from CPEmarket.com, you have the right to select the "opt out" option during the registration process or at any time afterwards. You may "opt out" by not clicking on the box marked “Subscribe to Email List” when you register for an account. At any time afterwards, you may send an email marked “remove from email list” in the subject line to cpemarket@nasba.org.

5. User Access to Information Collected

You may access your Registration Data at any time through the Member Services section of the site. This area is password-restricted for your protection.

6. Lost or Stolen Information

If your credit card or password is stolen or used without your permission, immediately notify CPEmarket.com. Upon notification CPEmarket.com will cancel your credit card number and/or password and update its records. CPE course providers may be unable to list a course while CPEmarket.com processes the credit card and/or password change.

7. Cancellation>

You may cancel your account at any time by calling CPEmarket.com at 615-880-4200 or sending an e-mail to cpemarket@nasba.org. Once CPEmarket.com has finished processing the cancellation, CPEmarket.com will delete all your Registration Data from its database.

8. No Liability for Acts of Third Parties

Although CPEmarket.com will use all reasonable efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of the Registration Data, transmissions made by means of the Internet cannot be made absolutely secure. CPEmarket.com will have no liability for disclosure of Registration Data due to errors in transmission or unauthorized acts of third parties.

9. Use of Aggregated Information

CPEmarket.com reserves the right to disclose to third parties information about usage of the CPEmarket.com site and any related services, including information gathered during your use of the site. Any information disclosed will be in the form of aggregate data (such as overall patterns or demographic reports) that does not describe or identify any individual user or course provider.

10. Updates

CPEmarket.com reserves the right to change or update this Privacy Policy, or any other CPEmarket.com policy or practice, at any time with reasonable notice to users of the site. Any changes or updates will be effective immediately upon posting to the site.
